The event was held at the usual venue of Burnham & Berrow GC over a beautifully sunny, if a little chilly, weekend at the end of March. The team was made up of Nick Bliss, Jon Addenbrooke, James Brown, Simon Roberts, Gerald Thomas and Damon Chilcott.

Saturday morning, in the first match out, we played against a strong RAF team losing narrowly 2-1. We bounced back in the subsidiary Plate event in the afternoon, this time reversing the morning result to beat the Wigorns 2-1. On Sunday morning, again in lovely sunshine, we beat the Erratic Golf Society 2-1 in the Plate Semi Final (with match 3 being won by a margin of 7&6, a superb achievement) setting up a final against the Buckthorns. The Buckthorns are aSociety made up entirely of Burnham & Berrow GC members, and withe the match poised at 1-1, mental and physical fatigue kicked in and we eventually lost the match 2-1. A great achievement for the Team to reach the final of the Plate for the third time in the last 8 years, but sadly, in our 5th round of golf in 3 days, we didn't have quite enough left in the tank to bring home the silverware. Maybe some pre-event training is required next year! Congratulations to the team in reaching the final of the Plate again, a great achievement in an event where the standard of golf is extremely high.
